I can't hear any audio through the speakers?
The speakers on the keyboard will mute when headphones are connected to the keyboard. If your headphones are not connected, please check the inside of the jack for dust, debris or other obstructions inside.
I can't get the Skoove output over the keyboard's outputs?
Audio will not pass over the keyboard's USB connections to any of the Keyboard's outputs. If you would like to use headphones for your lessons with Skoove, we would recommend using some type of mobile connection kit or smart dock for your iOS/Android device that has a headphone output built into it. This will provide headphone monitoring from the Skoove app at the lowest latency.
Something sounds weird on my keyboard, can I factory reset it?
Yes! You can reset the keyboard by holding down the FUNCTION button and pressing the last key on the right.
Why is my screen not displaying/buttons not illuminating?
This is commonly a low power situation. If on a power supply, please check the output written on the plug and compare it to the output specs at the back of your user guide. If on batteries, please check the output Amps of the AA batteries you're using, as some rechargeable batteries may only output 1.2 Amps while the standard for Alkaline AA's is 1.5. The keyboard will not power over USB-C.
Why is my keyboard turning off after 20 minutes?
The Eco Mode feature will automatically turn off the keyboard after 20 minutes of inactivity. To turn this feature on or off, press and hold the Function button and press the key labeled “Eco”. This may need to be turned back off if the keyboard is factory reset.
Can I turn off the speakers while I use the app?
Yes. And if you do not want to adjust the volume, you can simply turn the local MIDI off.
To turn Local MIDI on/off, press and hold Function, and then press the key labeled Local MIDI. The display screen will display “ON” or “OFF” accordingly.
When Local MIDI is on (default), sound will be generated and heard through the speaker, and MIDI messages will be sent to the USB-MIDI output when keys are played.
When Local MIDI is off, sound will not be generated, however MIDI messages will still be sent to the USB-MIDI output when keys are played.
Sometimes I get noise over the speakers while using the Skoove app?
Using a mobile phone in close proximity to Teacher’s Choice 61 may produce interference. To prevent this, put the mobile phone in airplane mode, put the phone on a music stand a little further away, or put a block on the music stand to create a degree of separation while using the app.
My song will not save after powering down the Teacher's Choice 61?
This is normal. The memory will not hold a song through a power cycle. We would recommend recording the playback before powering down.
I get a pop over the speakers when powering on?
This is normal, it is part of the keyboard's system check as it boots up.
Why is the sound from the headphone port poor/only in one side?
For use with this keyboard, we recommend monitoring headphones with a TRS connector. TRRS and TS connector headphones will only broadcast to one side and may have functions built into them that impedes the sound from the keyboard to the headphones.
