How does the USB Port on the keyboard communicate with the computer?
The USB port on this keyboard sends MIDI to your computer for controlling MIDI virtual MIDI instrument programs on your computer. Those MIDI notes and input can be recorded to a Digital Audio Workstation, or DAW. It will not record the internal sounds of the keyboard, nor will it send audio back to the keyboard for monitoring sounds through your speakers/headphone port. This will also be true for Skoove, and would require you to use the audio output from your Phone/Tablet when using the App.
What Sustain Pedals will be compatible with the keyboard?
This keyboard will accept 1/4" TS momentary connection sustain pedals such as the Alesis ASP-1 and the M-Audio SP-1 pedals.
What are Skoove's System Requirements?
Please see Skoove's official article about this here: Skoove - What are the System Requirements?
Can the Teacher's Choice 61 be used with a different lesson program?
Yes, but in a more limited function- The keyboard and MIDI functions will work with other apps, but the lights will not work with other lesson programs.
Can I change the Keyboard Light Strip Color?
Yes, you can customize the color, or turn the lights off, by holding the Function button, and then pressing the left-most key of the keyboard labeled “Click”. Continue to press this button repeatedly to select from the available options (Red, Green, Amber, or Off).
For performance/recitals, what is the best way to connect to an external speaker?
We would recommend connecting the headphone out to an amplifier or mixer. Please note that the keyboard outputs from this port in Stereo, so the cable you use should be TRS.
